Florida suspends Allstate from writing new auto policies

State regulators won't let the insurer write new auto policies. Signaling increased toughness in his quest to lower homeowners-insurance rates, Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty on Wednesday suspended Allstate's authority to write new auto-insurance policies in the state.
